SUNDAY

Intermediate Agility (Agility at the Farm, Campton Hills) – 6 pm
For teams working on contacts and weaves, basic handling skills and focus.

Puppies play and learn in Kindergarten!

Puppy Kindergarten (South Town Animal Hospital, South Elgin) – 6 pm
Puppies are introduced to basic obedience skills, socialize off leash with other puppies, and build confidence on baby agility obstacles.

Beginner Obedience (South Town Animal Hospital, South Elgin) – 7:15 pm
Introduce or refresh basic obedience skills (sit, down, come, stay), heel position, loose leash walking, go to place/mat, and impulse control games.

AKC Canine Good Citizen (South Town Animal Hospital, South Elgin) – 7:15 pm
Advanced obedience skills are required for passing the Canine Good Citizen test (see AKC Canine Good Citizen for more info) and preparing to be a Therapy Dog. They include sit politely for petting, nicely greet another dog, loose leash walking, stays and recalls. Dogs who pass all 10 test items earn CGC (Canine Good Citizen) title.
PRE-REQUISITE: Beginner Obedience or instructor approval

AKC Community Canine (South Town Animal Hospital, South Elgin) – 7:15 pm
Real world obedience skills are required for passing the Community Canine test (go to AKC Community Canine for more info). They include sit stay while owner walks ahead through gate or door, down stay with other dogs nearby while owner fills out paperwork and talks to others, loose leash walking outside and through a crowd, politely pass distraction dogs, plus stays and recalls with tough distractions. Dogs who pass all 10 test items earn CGCA (Canine Good Citizen Advanced) title.
PRE-REQUISITE: CGC title

WEDNESDAY

Foundation Agility (South Town Animal Hospital, South Elgin) – 6 pm
Dogs ages 6 months and older zoom through the tunnel and chute, climb a baby Aframe, walk the plank, jump over bars and through tires! Prerequisite for all agility classes.

For graduates of Foundation Agility or equivalent, dogs continue to build confidence on obstacles, introducing baby dogwalk, low teeter totter, and weave poles, plus working short sequences off leash.

THURSDAY

Downtown Hound (weekly field trips, Geneva, St. Charles & South Elgin) – 10am
Need to polish your dog’s manners in a real-world setting? Each week, we meet in a different location, from parks to Geneva Commons outdoor shopping mall to ice cream in downtown St. Charles, and learn how to help our dogs work through distractions, such as people, other dogs, and new environments. Includes preparation & testing for AKC Community Canine title.
PREREQUISITE: CGC title or instructor approval
CLASS DATES: July 14, 21, 28, August 4, 11, 18

Foundation
Nose Work (South Town Animal Hospital, South Elgin) – 6 pm
Ever wonder how drug detection or bomb detection dogs know what to search for? Nose work is a recreational version of what police and military dogs do! Teach your dog to search for and alert on odor (specific essential oils).

Building on foundation skills by increasing search area, and adding more challenges, such as food and toy distractions.
