Our Dream Team

Each instructor at Spot On K9 Sports is an experienced, positive reinforcement trainer who enjoys teaching people as much as training dogs. We are a CPDT (Certified Professional Dog Trainer) or CPDT candidate through the independent Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (https://www.ccpdt.org).

Julia Lane, CPDT-KA

Owner/Director of Training

Loves teaching: Agility, Downtown Hound, Reactive Rover, Really Reliable Recall

Julia has been learning about dog behavior and training since 2001, when she first volunteered at the Louisiana SPCA in New Orleans. Since then, she has owned and loved a variety of breeds and mixes, from Border Collies and Dalmatians to Chow and Pit Bull mixes. She has titled her dogs in agility (AKC, NADAC, USDAA), tricks, and rally obedience, and enjoyed dock diving, herding and nosework. Her late Dalmatian, Darby Lynn, is still only the second Dalmatian to finish her ADCH (Agility Dog Championship). Her Border Collie, Magnum, is her most recent ADCH teammate. She is a CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer - Knowledge Assessed) and an AKC Evaluator for STAR Puppy, Canine Good Citizen and Trick Dog. She enjoys family time with her husband, young son, four dogs and one cat, plus reading, writing, running and outdoor activities.

Coralyn Pedota, ACDBC, CPDT-KA

Loves teaching: Rally Obedience, Tricks, Reactive Rover

Coralyn has a passion for the science of behavior. Their connection with animals began with their childhood dogs, and their interest in training started with horses. While still in high school, they worked & performed at the equestrian theater, The Noble Horse Theatre (yes - horse circus!). Coralyn started their canine career in Chicago, then interned at a working dog kennel in West Virginia, where they learned about socialization for future police, military, and sport dogs, odor detection imprinting & more. In addition to dogs and horses, they even learned how to clicker train chickens! In their free time, Coralyn trains for dog sports with Mars (Cattle Dog) and Cupid (Dutch Shepherd), & continues their journey of education. Their non-dog hobby of choice is aerial dance!
